From some of our most respected children’s authors We’ve teamed up with popular book publisher, Penguin, to bring you this great offer. Each book in the Green’s Aussie Chomps Mini-Book series features a full original story with an introduction by the author. We have selected five of Australia’s leading children’s authors to contribute to the series. Up For Sale by Rachel Flynn Rachel Flynn is the highly regarded author of many books for children, including the hugely successful and very popular I Hate Fridays series, Sacked! and On the Team and the delightful picture books, The Goat, The Duck and the Bail of Hay, My Mummy and Me and My Daddy and Me. Rachel is a full time writer and lives in Melbourne with her husband and two children. Her most recent book is a novel called The Third Prince. Stella by the Sea by Ruth Starke Ruth Starke is the award-winning author of many books for young readers, including NIPS XI, which was an Honour Book in the 2001 CBC Awards. In 2002 Ruth won the SA Carclew Fellowship which recognises important South Australian writers. Ruth reviews books for Viewpoint and ABR. She is also past Chair of the SA Writers Centre. The Boy Who Would Live Forever by Moya Simons Born in Moree, NSW, Moya has been writing for children for over 10 years. Her very first book, Iggy from Outer Space, was published by Omnibus. Her writing is humorous, light and adventurous. She has been shortlisted for YABBA twice (Dead Average – an Omnibus from Scholastic Australia) and for the WAYRA award. Her books have been published in the USA, UK, Germany, Malaysia and France. The Really, Really High Diving Tower by David Metzenthen David Metzenthen is one of Australia’s top writers for young people. His novels have been universally acclaimed and many have won prizes. Johnny Hart’s Heroes was the winner of the 1996 NSW Premier’s Literary Award and was named an Honour Book in the 1997 CBC Awards for Older Readers. Gilbert’s Ghost Train (Scholastic) was named an Honour Book in the 1998 CBC Awards and was shortlisted for the 1998 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award. Stony Heart Country was shortlisted for the 2000 CBC Book of the Year Award – Older Readers. He has previously written two books for the Aussie Bites series – Fort Island and The Hand Written Hero. Boots and All by Sherryl Clark Sherryl Clark is the author of three highly successful Aussie Bites, The Too Tight Tutu, Tiger Trouble and Batter Up!, and one Aussie Nibble, The Littlest Pirate, as well as a number of educational titles. Sherryl teaches writing to adults at TAFE colleges and community centres around Melbourne. |
